One of Southgate’s signature features is our two-story, 200-seat theater, complete with raised stage, dressing rooms and balcony. All performances are carefully selected to appeal to our diverse residents who often invite their family and friends for a matinee performance or an evening at the opera.

Southgate has proudly hosted Stageloft Repertory Theater since 1994. Stageloft performances have earned rave reviews and “standing room only” audiences with such classic favorites as My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, Miracle on 34th Street, Camelot and South Pacific.
Variety is the Spice of Life
Southgate is also pleased to partner with Mass Theatrica, an innovative, performing arts company consisting of talented artists from the Greater Boston Area.
Mass Theatrica has brought a variety of theater arts genres to our Southgate stage, including plays, musical theater and opera. The Impresario, The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, An Evening of Mozart, Italian Opera Night, German Songs and Arias, and tributes to Gershwin and Cole Porter are just a few recent performances.
